Mark Bedinger, N.H.A., President/CEO

Mark has been a licensed Nursing Home Administrator for over 17 years. Prior to becoming an administrator, Mark was the Western States Director of Food Services for one of the largest nursing home and assisted living companies in the country. Mark currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Health Care Association, the Colorado Culture Change Coalition and is a past appointee of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Informal Dispute Resolution Committee. Mark holds a Bachelors degree in Organizational Management and has formal culinary arts training from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.  Mark has been a frequent speaker to many groups such as the American Health Care Association, the Colorado Health Care Association, the Colorado Dietary Manager’s Association and the Colorado Culture Change Coalition. His speaking topics have varied from culinary systems in long term care to operations management and culture change practices.

Jodie Walker, R.N., B.S.N. Director of Clinical Operations

Jodie graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona and is employed as the Director of Clinical Operations for Colavria Hospitality.  Prior to her employment at Colavria she worked for a large national corporation as the District Director of Clinical Operations, consulting in multiple states and with a variety of facilities. In addition, as a Quality Improvement Specialist for CFMC, the Quality Improvement Organization for the state of Colorado, she consulted in 23 Colorado nursing homes. Her project received national recognition for reducing Pressure Ulcers in the state of Colorado. She was a Director of Nursing for 15 years and has worked in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors of long term care. Although an acute care nurse for 10 years, moving to a rural community exposed her to the world of long term care during which time she developed a strong love and compassion for the elderly. She is currently participating in a national workgroup for Advancing Excellence and is a member of the Education Committee and the Quality Initiatives and Leadership Committee for Colorado Health Care Association.

Dustin Dodson, NHA, MBA, Director Special Projects

Dusty has been a licensed Nursing Home Administrator for more than 21 years and has practiced in metropolitan markets, the tribal region of New Mexico and rural communities.  Dusty has experience in post-acute and critical access acute care operations as well as formal consulting experience with providers and with CMS. Consulting experiences include operations analysis, financial pro-forma development, and national projects including the CMS PASRR contract where he has taken the provider perspective to CMS initiatives and training of state and regional offices officials, often presenting nationwide webinars and speaking engagements. Dusty is the past appointee to the State of Colorado Olmstead initiative through the Community Living Advisory Group and has been an advisor to the No Wrong Door implementation grant.  He has been involved with Colorado Health Care Association for over 15 years and has served as a board member and as a member the Governmental Policy Committee. Dusty earned his MBA with Emphasis on Health Care Administration from the University of Colorado in 2009 and continues to pursue learning opportunities.  An avid outdoorsman, in his spare time Dustin enjoys mountaineering and winter Nordic activities in the great playgrounds of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains.

Valerie Borowiec, R.N., B.S.N., Clinical Liaison

Valerie has over 17 years of experience as a Registered Nurse. She graduated in 1994 from Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Shortly after moving to Colorado, Valerie teamed up with Colavria Hospitality and St. Paul Health Center, serving as a Director of Nursing for 6 years, and has held other roles in clinical supervision and community education.

Scott Krise, Director of Accounting

Scott brings 12+ years of medical accounting and financial management and analysis experience to the team. Scott is well versed in reimbursement systems and cost reporting functions.  Scott earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of Northern Colorado in 2000.

Erin Lawless, SPHR, Director of Human Resources

Erin has been a Human Resources professional since 2003. Prior to her joining the Colavria team she worked as the Director of Human Resources at Colavria’s Saint Paul Health Center. Highly skilled at Human Resource systems design, Erin has been instrumental in decreasing turnover and building the HR infrastructure at Colavria. Erin has worked in various HR roles over the last decade in fields such as manufacturing, hospitality, and enterprise information management. Erin graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder and earned her Senior Professional in Human Resources designation in 2013 and is a member of SHRM. She is a frequent speaker at Colorado Health Care Association on Human Resources best practices.

Jay Frazier, Director of Plant Operations

Jay has been the Director of Plant Operations for Colavria Hospitality since 2005. Jay has an extensive background in residential remodeling and construction covering more than 20 years. Experienced with both high end multi-million dollar projects, as well as small sized custom renovations, Jay provides expertise for high quality remodeling projects and building improvements at the facilities managed by Colavria. Jay is extremely knowledgeable and involved with Life Safety regulations and on going Emergency Preparedness.
